Juan found that the longitudinal profile writer produces problems for inclined showers crossing media (upstream versus downstream particles); in principle, the concept breaks down, might not even be useful any more
Caterina will look into making C8 work for very inclined showers (downgoing/skimming/upgoing)
good first step is to make an example application
Max pointed out that the conversion from grammage to distance with the sliding planar atmosphere could start producing problems, several potential solutions
brute force numerical integration (slow but universal and accurate)
Taylor expansion (Max has info on that, also look into CONEX)
2d tabulation (implemented by Tim in C7/CoREAS for refractivity integration)
Tanguy was in contact with some people interested to interface HEP-MC to C8, Felix and Tanguy will coordinate with them
Alexander mentions that there is a new PROPOSAL release, there is a pull request, will be discussed at the technical call next week Thursday (Sep 8th at 17:00 CEST)
