  can now go to lower energies, 500 keV proven to work
  
  longitudinal profiles get very sensitive to multiple scattering at these energies
  
  with multiple scattering on agreement with C7 well below 5%

  photons look off, however (was already the case in ICRC2021, should re-check)
  
  might be possible to go as low as 100 keV, requires to use only-stochastic photon simulation, seems to give same results with same runtime

  Lukas has worked on getting Conan out of CMake
  
  This revealed a problem: The older Conan coming with the container cannot build the new packages any more
  
  Lukas is building a new container that has an up-to-date Conan, that might already fix the CI
  
  He is looking into further structural improvements related to caching of built packages, in particular an easy way to produce new container versions with cache for updated packages either directly from the CI or easily locally
  
  Lukas will now also be able to provide Apptainer containers (formerly known as Singularity containers)
  
  He will investigate also improved compatibility with other operating systems
  
  Jean-Marco asks if users will be able to use their own packages instead of Conan, but Lukas advises against it

  they use C8 to simulate cascades in water for the TRIDENT experiment
  
  electromagnetic showers look good
  
  hadronic shower (pi+ induced) seems to have 4% of unaccounted energy, could be a problem in the EnergyLossWriter
  
  they have quantified the energy loss of muons, to be compared with known values
  
  they also checked showers going from air into sea water, need to validate
  
  they built an Earth model in C8 (preliminary Earth reference model) and can start neutrino-induced showers
  
  they have run into some problems (slide 15, 16)
