Information on the Processing of Personal Data

The general privacy policy of the KIT applies to the processing of personal data, which you can access at http://www.kit.edu/dataprotection.php. Following additional notes apply for the registration for the presentation-ceremony on July 29, 2019 at KIT, Karlsruhe:

Registration
When you complete the form to register for the event we process the following personal data:
• First Name
• Last Name
• Institution
• E-Mail address
These data are collected and used exclusively for the purpose of registration, for the organization of the event, the administration, to identify your affiliation and to contact you regarding the event.

With the registration to this event you agree that your first name, last name and institution will be openly visible in the participant list on this indico page of the event. If you don’t wish to be visible in the participant list you can register by sending us an e-mail to info@kceta.kit.edu

The legal basis is Art. 6, par. 1, clause 1, (a) GDPR, since you give us this information voluntarily. There are no disadvantages if it is denied or withdrawn.
Your data are not transmitted to any other third parties. Your data will be stored as long as it is required for the execution of the event. Upon the expiry of the storage period outlined in tax and trade laws, your data will be deleted, unless you have expressly agreed to further data use.

Your Rights
According to Art. 7 par. 3 GDPR you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. The withdrawal may also refer to parts of your consent. Please address your request to info@kceta.kit.edu .
Furthermore you have the following rights:
• Right of access (Article 15 GDPR)
• Right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR)
• Right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR)
• Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
• Right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR)

In addition, you have the right to complain about the processing of your personal data by us with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
In the case of manifestly unfounded or excessive requests, we can charge a reasonable fee. Otherwise, information will be provided free of charge (Art. 12, par. 5 GDPR).
In the case of reasonable doubts concerning the identity of the natural person asserting the above rights, we may request the provision of additional information necessary to confirm the identity of the data subject (Art. 12, par. 6 GDPR).
