Description

We celebrate the start of our Double Doctoral degree in Astrophysics (DDAp), which is jointly offered by the Physics Department at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany and the Institute of Technology in Detection and Astrophysics (ITeDA) at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Doctoral students participating in the DDAp will work on joint research projects in astroparticle physics, e.g., related to the Pierre Auger Observatory , and spend at least one year in the other country. The doctoral students have to follow the rules of both universities and a specific cooperation agreement. The research project is complemented by a lecture program covering astrophysics, astroparticle and particle physics as well as language courses. At the conclusion of a project after typically three years, KIT and UNSAM, will conduct a joint examination and both issue their doctoral degree.

The Double Doctoral Degree in Astrophysics is kindly supported by Deutsch-Argentinisches Hochschulzentrum / Centro Universitario Argentino-Alemán (DAHZ/CUAA).
