Where to Eat

In this map you can find all the restaurants and cafes, that are close to the KIT campus south; approximately ranked by price. (The map was created by and is used with the kind permission of Julia Heller.)

How to get from the main station to "Hotel am Markt"

There are two tram lines going from the  train station to the market square, where the hotel is located:

  • Line S1 or S11 labelled "Neureut" or "Hochstetten" (going east)
  • Line 4 labelled "Waldstadt" (going west)

Note that, as they are traversing two different routes, the lines will leave in opposite directions (you can consult the following station map, which shows all platforms where the trams stop).

There is a ticket machine outside of the train station where one can buy the tram ticket. Each ticket costs 2,40 €, and it includes all connections inside of the city.

Please note that after boarding the tram it is compulsory to validate the ticket, by getting it stamped in one of the small yellow slots next to one of the doors.

Leave the tram at the station "Marktplatz". From there turn to the square where several construction sites are located, and follow the street to the next crossing. You should see the hotel on the right hand side. You can consult the following station map (the "Hotel Am Markt" is located next to the "Museum am Markt").
