Travel restrictions
At the time of writing, no Covid-19-related restrictions are in place when entering Germany. However, please be aware that the rules may be adapted on short notice, hence we recommend that you check shortly before your trip whether restrictions are in place for your country of origin: https://einreiseanmeldung.de/#/
Current situation and rules in Germany
With the beginning of the cold season, Covid-19 numbers are again on the rise in Germany and Europe. Most Covid-19 measures have been lifted in Germany, however some preventive measures are still in place. We are monitoring the current situation and will update the rules in case changes occur.
Rules for face masks
You are required to wear a mask in certain situations:
-
FFP2 masks (or equivalent standard i.e. N95, KN95 etc.) are required on long-distance trains and buses - this is typically the means of transportation you use to get from the airport to Baden-Baden
-
FFP2 or surgical masks are required for regional and local public transport, though the use of FFP2 masks is also recommended in this case
-
FFP2 masks are also obligatory when entering doctor’s offices, hospitals etc.

Self-isolation
In case of a positive Covid-19 test, the infected person is required to self-isolate, i.e. stay at home or inside their hotel room. The isolation period is generally 10 days, but can be ended after at least 5 days if the person has been free from symptoms for at least 48 hours. After a positive antigen (“rapid”) test, the isolation also ends in case a subsequent PCR test is negative.

Safety measures at DISCRETE
While Covid-19 infections cannot be fully circumvented at a gathering of this size, we are committed to keeping the risk low. Our conference venue has been awarded the „DEKRA TRUSTED FACILITY Standard“, recognizing its high standards on room ventilation and other sanitation measures.
In addition, we remind everyone of the known rules of precaution:
-
Wearing a face mask indoors is generally recommended. In order to keep your own risk of infection low, we suggest the use of FFP2 masks and we supply you with some in the welcome package.
-
Please keep a safe distance from other people, staying at least 1,5m apart is generally recommended. When distancing is not possible (e.g. at the coffee and lunch buffets), you may consider to wear a face mask.
-
Please wash your hands frequently and/or use the hand sanitizer provided at the conference venue.
If you have symptoms related to a possible Covid-19 infection (e.g. fever, dry cough, sore throat, shortness of breath), please to not come to the conference venue
