Venue and Access Information

The workshop will take place in seminar room 410 of building 401 at KIT Campus North. You can check the exact location in google maps.

On the day of your arrival, you need to register with a valid ID document at the reception of the south gate of the campus in order to gain access for the time of your stay (you only need to do this once at the beginning).

To get to Campus North, there are several options:

1) Access by car is convenient, and there are ample parking spaces available on campus.

2) On the morning of Monday the 12th of June, please arrange your own transport to "KIT-Campus Nord Südtor, Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen". You can use the planner by KVV. You will have to change to a bus (line 195) either in Blankenloch-Nord or Leopoldshafen-Leopoldstraße, it is timed such that it connects with the arriving tram.

3) Once you are registered with Campus security and have your access pass - not before! - you can take the direct tram "S1" from Karlsruhe City to KIT Campus North and back. (Be aware that there is also a line "1" which should not be confused with line "S1"!) The direct S1 arrives at "KIT-Campus Nord" at 8:42, and we will synchronize the program with that. Please check out the various stations where you can catch that tram in the timetable pasted below, and ideally book accommodation accordingly.

Warning: If you miss that tram, any other connections will not be direct (i.e., require you to take a bus in addition) and will thus take longer.

For the way back, you can take a direct tram S1 towards Karlsruhe city leaving at 17:29. Again, we will synchronise the program with that and we warn you that if you miss it, other connections will not be direct and take longer. The timetable is also attached below.

3) In principle, there is also the "KIT shuttle" going from KIT Campus south to KIT Campus north and back regularly. You can check the timetable here. However, this is intended only for students and employees based at one Campus and needing to go to the other Campus as part of their work. Mind you that it can also be quite crowded especially in the mornings.
