Description

Second Workshop

In this second meeting of the South West Algebra Network, young researchers in algebraic topics are encouraged to come along and discuss with one another, opening the possibilities for new collaboration. There will be three lectures by the invited speakers where current open problems and new directions will be presented.

Invited speakers

Peter Fiebig (Erlangen)

Ghislain Fourier (Aachen)

Daniel Tubbenhauer (Zürich)

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the registration form and tell us wether you would like to contribute with a talk. In your talk we would like to encourage you to present your on-going work. Here is a link to the first meeting last year in Stuttgart.

Where to sleep

We recommend the following hotels. You have to book and pay by yourself. However, we have limited funding for local expenses, so please contact Jacinta before you book if you need financial support.

Gastdozentenhaus (this is our most recommended option:)

Hotel Erbprinzenhof (slightly further away from KIT, but the price includes a city transport ticket)

Hotel am Markt (with a roof terrace:)

Conference Dinner

Our conference dinner will take place on Thursday the 27th of June at 18:00. The location is still to be confirmed. On Wednesday, there will be an informal get-together at 19:30 at the Oxford Pub.

Organizers

Ghislain Fourier: The framework of linear degenerate flag varieties 1h 30m

I'll recall flag varieties and Schubert varieties, and building on that linear degenerations of these varieties. We will briefly discuss PBW and toric degenerations along the way. This first part is mainly along important examples and is meant to be an introduction for Master and PhD-students. The second part is dedicated to discussions on recent developments and open questions, with combinatorial, geometrical and/or representation theoretical flavor.

Peter Fiebig: Arithmetic properties of affine moment graphs 1h 30m

Affine moment graphs exhibit remarkable arithmetic properties. In the talk I will give some examples of this, and
I will show how affine moment graphs are connected to the problem of determining Weyl module multiplicities for tilting
      modules of reductive algebraic groups.
