GLOWSKA 2016

Europe/Berlin
Description

The 2016 meeting of the German SKA community

The SKA is on its way to become a global observatory  and leading science facility that will address fundamental questions of our Universe. The SKA proposal to the "National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures" is an important first step, of the German community to become an active partner in this truly exciting project again.

The SKA will be the biggest data generator of the world and will change the traditional way how research has been conducted in astronomy so far. In this light, new ways of collaboration and data analysis is needed to fully explore the capacities of the SKA.  Therefore, it will be essential in the future to explore strategies of national collaboration and to develop key competence of data analysis in order to secure the position of the German SKA community.

The meeting is a forum to discuss the SKA science and how to develop the national SKA collaboration to be competitive in a global context. We invite everybody interested in the SKA and its science and everybody involved in the SKA roadmap-proposal to discuss the future development of the  community and the GLOW collaboration.
