Reaching the GridKa School event location

FTU building at KIT Campus North

This year GridKa School takes place in building FTU at KIT Campus North located in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen (about 12 km north of Karlsruhe).

We provide a dedicated shuttle bus service each day from the school hotel "Leonardo Hotel Karlsruhe" in Karlsruhe to FTU at KIT Campus North and back to the hotel. The timetable for the shuttle bus service will be available a short time before the event.

Currently the Karlsruhe City Center is under construction. Some changes in timetable and routes of the trams are not expected, but possible. If you have any problems to reach the school, please contact us at +49-172-3442319.

Short instructions for Public Transport:

  1. take the tram from Karlsruhe main station to Blankenloch
  2. a three minute walk to Blankenloch Bahnhof
  3. take the bus 195 to "KIT Campus Nord Südtor"
  4. cross the road and enter the FTU building

Reaching Karlsruhe by Plane

Frankfurt airport (FRA) offers the easiest train connection to Karlsruhe. From Frankfurt(Main)Flugh it takes approximately 60 minutes to Karlsruhe main railway station. For further information please check the following information.

Look at the timetables of the German train transportation Die Bahn.

Fill in Frankfurt(Main)Flugh as your start station at the query page, and Karlsruhe Hbf as the destination.
Look for details of your selection. Usually the train must be changed in Mannheim.
